Movie Illustration 6

That shirt print was driving me nuts for a bit, but there's a lot I like about this one. Her skin especially, and I think I caught some of the obstinance in that look. ;) Reference here.

Last one for a couple days, as I've got some other illos I need to get done.

Movie Illustration 5

I almost took the morning off, but here it is, today's illustration. The reference is here. I like her face, it's pretty distinctive - looks like a real woman instead of barbie. ;)

Movie Illustration 4

Getting tired yet? ;) I really like how the face turned out on this one. Reference here

Ye damsel in distress. ;) Here's the reference photo for those curious. And this one took about an hour, with interruptions.

Movie Illustration 2

Here is this morning's illustration. This one took about an hour, but then it's harder to work at a likeness without facepaint or masks involved. ;)

Movie Illustration 1

Movie Illustration 1, originally uploaded by seian.

This is the first quick illustration for a movie credits project I'm helping on. I'm rather pleased with it and the reference has been very good. Done on the back of a grocerystore brown bag, so it's not exactly acid-free paper. ;) Going to have to grab some deacidifier solution if I want this to survive the ages.

The Lasting Winter

And it's done! Put in the background yesterday and left it pressing under some heavy books to smooth out the watercolor paper's ripples (at least as much as I could). Pretty pleased with it, and I hesitate to give the whole story I imagine behind it as I'm enjoying the variety in what others are seeing.

The Lasting Winter WIP

The Lasting Winter WIP, originally uploaded by seian.

With this so-so photo you can see the warp in the paper, from the shadows. Time to haul out the big heavy coffee table books once I'm done. ;)

Had to take a quicky shot before I hit the background. I think I've settled on what I'm going to do, so wish me luck.

The Lasting Winter (WIP)

The Lasting Winter (WIP), originally uploaded by seian.

I've started taking the pencils to it and making progress. Not sure what I'm going to do with the background yet, though I want to keep it simple. At least I've got plenty to do with the figures yet before I have to worry much.

Well, I've got a title, and now moving on to the colored pencil after this. Still looks pretty messy, but my hopes are improving steadily.

Untitled WIP 2

Untitled WIP 2, originally uploaded by seian.

The paper is annoyingly buckled, but it doesn't show nearly as badly in the photo. It's at the ugly stage, but I've had some hopeful signs of improvement.

There is no explaining this. ;)

Though bonus points though those who know what the critter's shield is.

And he ought to have that one foot looked at...
